This artwork was created by placing a block of blue ice on top of 300 sheets of Korean mulberry paper (hanji) and observing the result. As you move downward through the stack, the crisp rectangular shape visible on the first sheet gradually becomes distorted.

We are exposed to countless conversations—ranging from small, everyday exchanges with people close to us to the many voices we hear in the news. These conversations are carried from one place to another. Through this repeated process, a conversation may appear to retain its original color, yet it slowly changes.

This work reveals the shifting forms of conversations as they unfold again and again. Does truth become distorted and eventually disappear?

화선지 300장 위에 파란색 얼음을 두고 관찰한 작품이다. 아래로 갈수록 첫 장의 선명한 사각형 모양은 점점 변형된다.
우리는 수많은 대화에 노출된다. 가까운 사람과 소소히 말을 주고 받는 대화부터 뉴스에서 들리는 많은 말까지. 그 대화들은 또 다시 다른 곳으로 옮겨진다. 그런 과정을 반복하면서 그 대화는 원래의 색깔을 유지하는 것 처럼 보이지만 결국 점점 변화한다.
이 작품은 거듭하여 진행되는 대화의 모양의 변화를 보여준다. 진실은 변형되고 결국 사라지는 것일까?
